Kyiv Camerata in Kyiv

On May 26 at 6:00 PM, the National Ensemble of Soloists “Kyiv Camerata” will present a program of contemporary Ukrainian and American music at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine under the baton of Music Director Keri -Lynn Wilson.

The concert will feature works by , Ukrainian and American composers . Three of the four works will receive their Ukrainian premieres.

Soloists of the evening are Bogdana Pivnenko (violin) and Dmytro Tavanets (tylinka, flute, recorder).

The program opens with the Kyiv premiere of Suite No. 2 for Chamber Orchestra by Dmytro Klebanov — one of the founders of the Kharkiv school of composition in the 20th century. The concert will also feature the Ukrainian premiere of Victoria Poleva’s “Magic Tylynka,” commissioned by the Bach Festival in Schaffhausen.

The evening’s culmination will be the Ukrainian premiere of Violin Concerto “Shrink” by Nico Muhly — one of the leading contemporary American composers.
